Decorated regency

The lighter, more delicate painted chairs from the Regency period are always highly sought after to provide a foil for the heavier mahogany furniture of the 18th century. Classic Chairs’ master craftsmen have copied this fine example using robust hardwood with a hand-caned seat, hand painted decoration and gilded finish in our artists studio to resemble the original as closely as possible. The hand rubbed antique finish and attention to the smallest detail will delight lovers of fine furniture.

As with all hand-caned seats, it should always be used with a reversible ‘squab’ – pictured here is an elaborate, hand woven silk cushion with ruched borders and is decorated with 12 meters of French multi-coloured cord.  This can be, of course in your choice of fabric and finish.
