The Regency fashion for the lighter decorated chair produced many examples of painted or japanned chairs. Classic Chairs have copied an unusual type with sabre front legs. Only available with arms, this fine copy is hand decorated in exactly the same way as the original to reproduce its look and finish. As the chair is hand-caned, it should always be used with a reversible ‘squab’ — an elaborate, hand woven silk cushion with ruched borders and is decorated with 12 meters of French multi-coloured cord.
