From a very valuable original writing table attributed to Gillows, the Classic Chairs’ team of cabinet-makers have recreated an exact copy of this fine example of an early Regency table – the original dates from circa 1805 – 1810. From the cross-banded edges with ebony stringing and the cockbeaded drawers – all dovetailed – to the finely reeded and tapered legs, the detailed cabinet making is a precise copy of the original. Connoisseurs of furniture will appreciate the difficulty of making the outstanding legs that give the added style and form to a rectangular library table top.
