Generally used as a sideboard and serving table, the Classic Chairs Company’s models are made in two variations. Model RJC is a chiffonier with 2 drawers above a two door cupboard. Insidethe cupboard is a shelf. Most often used for cutlery and napery and all things that are needed near at hand in the dining room. Sometimes used in other rooms to provide storage and a practical granite top for serving drinks. …The chiffonier has three secret drawers, a feature found in the best of 18th and early 19th Century examples. Model RJLC looks exactly the same as the chiffonier but is arranged to store the extension leaves of the Robert Jupe Radially Extending Table when they are not being used. The leaves are inserted into baize lined slots through a door in the side of the chiffonier. The two cupboard doors at the front are fixed. The leaf cabinet is fitted with 4 secret drawers as well as wine storage and two large drawers for cutlery and napery. Both models are made from solid rosewood, have a turned and tapered lotus column and all the attention to detail that have made the Classic Chairs Company famous. A pair of these chiffoniers always looks particularly good.
