An entirely hand carved solid wood figure copied from a heavily stylised French figure of around 1805.
She wears the Pharaoh’s headdress, charmingly if inaccurately portrayed with wings and a bird’s head. She also carries a palm frond and a flower.
A beautiful example of the vogue for all things Egyptian in France in the early years of the 19th c.
