This versatile stool is copied from an English example dating from about 1790. It clearly shows the influence of the French émigré craftsmen who fled to England at the latter end of the reign of Louis XVI.
Almost every small detail of these master carvers is showcased in the fine fluting, the draped swag in the central reserve, and the crisply carved rosettes.
The Classic End of Bed Stool can, of course be used elsewhere: in the hallway or in a window embrasure, or even bench seating for example.
Finishes: Gilded, part-gilded, or painted in your choice of colour and technique.
Upholstery: Fixed, or with a loose pad top. (fabric required is 5m)
Dimensions (mm): w 1200 d 360 w 860 sh 450. Longer stools can be produced to order.
