A LIDDED VEGETABLE DISH.

A serving and chafing dish with an internal divided plate, one of the three segments pierced to allow drainage/steam from below, and with a long ebony handle. The cover has a removable handle so it can also be used as another serving dish.
The rims and the lid and handle are decorated with fluted raised borders.

Established in Birmingham in 1800, and transferred to Sheffield in 1832.
After William died, his son William Carr Hutton continued in Sheffield. .
In 1930 the company was acquired by James Dixon and Sons Ltd, who introduced the crossed arrows trademark from that year.
