This versatile stool is adapted from an English stool dating from about 1790. It clearly shows the influence of the French emigre craftsmen who fled to England at the latter end of the reign of Louis XVI. Almost every small detail of the French masters is evident in the fine fluting, the curtain swag drape in the central reserve panel and the crisply carved rosettes. Just as useful as an end of bed stool, a window seat or stool in a hallway the Classic Chairs finely carved, gilded or decorated stool can be used in any of these positions. The cushion top can be loose or fixed and the fabric can be chosen by the customer. Each stool is custom made.
